Network Security Consultant
This position is for Vancouver.
Primary Job Duties
- Perform network & host based vulnerability assessment and penetration tests using automated tools and manual techniques.
- Prepare formal vulnerability reports that contain information on vulnerabilities and recommended solutions to fix them.
- Provide guidance in the interpretation and application of the security policies, standards, architecture and security awareness.
- Create and document operational procedures.
- Present findings to clients and provide remediation advice.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on security related topics.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Experience in conducting hands-on vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- 2-3 years experience in IT security with hands on experience with anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, server and appliance security.
- Good understanding of application/network layer attacks and IPS/IDS technologies.
- Familiarity with firewall/VPN technologies
- A recognized security professional designation is an asset (e.g. GSEC or CISSP)

- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to do hands-on, highly technical work and take direction from others.
- Strong customer focus. The goal should be to make customers happy enough that they ask for you to be sent back to do more work for them.
- Desire to learn new things and become a participant in the local information security community.

Conditions

- While most of the work will be performed from our offices, upto 25% travel might be required.
