Network Security Consultant

Primary Job Duties

• Perform network & host based vulnerability assessment and penetration tests using automated tools and manual techniques.
• Prepare formal vulnerability reports that contain information on vulnerabilities and recommended solutions to fix them.
• Provide guidance in the interpretation and application of the security policies, standards, architecture and security awareness.
• Create and document operational procedures.
• Present findings to clients and provide remediation advice.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on security related topics.

Required Skills

• Experience in conducting hands-on vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• 2-3 years experience in IT security with hands on experience with anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, server and appliance security.
• Good understanding of application/network layer attacks and IPS/IDS technologies.
• Familiarity with firewall/VPN technologies
• A recognized security professional designation is an asset (e.g. GSEC or CISSP)

• Willingness to do hands-on, highly technical work and take direction from others.
• Strong customer focus. The goal should be to make customers happy enough that they ask for you to be sent back to do more work for them.

• Fair compensation, based on experience. This will include a base salary plus a bonus tied to your productivity.

Conditions

• Selected candidate must undergo criminal background check and drug testing.
• While most of the work will be performed from our offices, upto 25% travel might be required.
