Web Application Security Consultant

Primary Job Duties

• Engage with clients to understand scope and prepare estimates.
• Performing vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on web applications. Engagements will require using automated tools and also performing manual testing.
• Prepare formal vulnerability reports that contain information on vulnerabilities and recommended solutions to fix them.
• Present findings to clients and provide remediation advice.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to clients on security related topics.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of the HTTP protocol and how it works.
• Experience performing manual web application security testing.
• Experience using vulnerability assessment tools such as AppScan, BurpSuite, Paros, etc.
• Experience developing web applications, preferably hard-core financial, e-commerce, or business applications that face the Internet.

Soft Skills

• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to do hands-on, highly technical work and take direction from others.
• Strong customer focus. The goal should be to make customers happy enough that they ask for you to be sent back to do more work for them.
• Desire to learn new things and become a participant in the local information security community.
• Honesty and integrity.

Conditions

• While most of the work will be performed from our offices, some travel might be required.
