Service Overview

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc.provides comprehensive server and network management security services, which allows our customers to establish world-class applications that protect the privacy of stakeholders. A dedicated server approach is recommended as the client application has specific memory, processing power, disk space and database components that make a shared approach unfeasible. The benefits of having your application server managed by SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. include:

  • A dedicated stand-alone web and applications server
  • Monthly reporting of application and usage statistics. This means you have facts and data to manage and control your business
  • Our data center has 100 Mbps so visitors to your site get superior speed and performance
  • Reliability and up time is crucial to delivering superior customer service in a competitive environment. We insure that you can deliver to your customers and retain that competitive edge. High performance availability of your application using I686/Linux servers
  • Comprehensive monthly usage statistics, including hit counts and bytes transferred on a per-page and aggregate basis, provided along with invoicing at month end. The customer can generate basic usage reports ad hoc at any time. Custom reporting services are also available

Managed Application Hosting Technical Features

  • Sufficient disk space to meet customer requirements

  • Backup Service (daily incremental, weekly full and monthly offsite)
  • Automatic trouble ticketing and service level objective based on escalation procedures. Customized script development can be developed for the customer's unique application software (additional cost)
  • No shell access to the operating system is granted

Back up Service

  • Daily incremental, weekly full, and for one year monthly data retention
  • On-site storage policy: Locked secure cabinet within climate controlled environment
  • Off-site storage policy: Locked secure cabinets at a data storage company
  • Automatic backup using proprietary code (Unix scripts) that uses scheduled times and hostnames. For the immediate preceding month SPIguard Security Solutions Inc.has full backup copies for each week on site. For all months prior to the preceding month backup copies are kept off site.

Included Options

  • Secure Server Upgrade availability - Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption (Note: client must purchase the certificate)
  • User Authentication Accounts. The customer may wish that some of their web pages be restricted to only certain people.
  • Additional domain names. Some customers may wish to have multiple domain names point to the same website. (Note: Client is responsible for purchasing domain names - setting up domain names for redirect is additional).
  • Firewall Service - server will be behind a firewall to allow no incoming connections from the Internet

Secure, Reliable operations

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. locates all managed servers at our secure facility in Vancouver, B.C and Toronto, Ontario. Our state-of-the-art Network Operations Centre (NOC) is manned 24 hours per day, seven days per week by both technical staff and security staff. The NOC monitors the Data facilities network and co-location facilities to ensure uptime and maximum network performance.

Our network is connected to multiple Tier 1 Internet providers in Canada and the US, and has peering relationships with a growing number of other networks.

100% Cisco powered internal network prioritizes high performance and redundancy. We use state of the art, fault tolerant software, utilizing Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), and guaranteeing 100% uptime Internet access. Our facilities are monitored around the clock by personnel and private security firms, and feature Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), personalized security access cards, and highly secure man traps.

Operating via private peering connections and public Network Access Points (NAPs), our expansive, redundant network was designed to offer a forward-thinking alternative to the existing network options. We utilizes multiple major upstream providers and more than 400 peering partners to ensure continuous Internet connectivity, greater route diversity, and ultimately, enhanced Internet performance. This strategic combination allows customer traffic to be routed over the best available connections.

Problem Escalation Process

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc.escalation process is part of the Service Management that SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. provides to its clients. It covers the following:

  • 7 day by 24 hours real time surveillance and monitoring of operating environment and hardware
  • Optional 7x24 real time surveillance and monitoring of CSC (customer supplied components)
  • Escalation notification and restoration in event of loss of operating system

The SPIguard Security Solutions Inc.server and network management security system is coupled to a trouble ticketing system

  • Web and database servers are pinged every 9 seconds for status determination
  • Trouble ticket is created and a Network operations specialist is notified automatically
  • Subsequent information is automatically updated to the ticket
  • The ticket is escalated to subsequent higher levels of management's at various percentages of the SLA
  • The operations specialist uses the appropriate tools to identify the source of the problem and to bring the correct resources in to correct fault

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc.has the following support resources:

  • Webboard support desk
  • Emergency personnel phone numbers
  • Available 7x24 for problem management and rectification
  • Available 5x9 for problem and change management
  • Operations support response within 30 minutes of notification

Address Translation Security

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. will provide Address Translation (NAT) to hide customer networks from the Internet. This enables a further security provision that prevents intruders from properly routing across a customer network. Address Translation is managed by SPIGUARD SECURITY SOLUTIONS INC. translating a block of illegal/unroutable Class A or Class B addresses into SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. legal/routable Class C Internet addresses at either Firewall Gateway or at the CIU. Blocks of IP addresses are reserved for the customer to be either statically or dynamically translated from many to one or many to many.

Dedicated Firewall Security

SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. will manage a dedicated Firewall Gateway server using PF Intel Open BSD software. SPIguard Security Solutions Inc. will install, configure and manage the firewall on behalf of the customer to meet your requirements.
